     John was born circa 1634 in Somersetshire, England. This date is determined by his grandfather's will in which he and his mother are mentioned, dated 22 July 1634.3 John married Mary Clark on 26 November 1656 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut. John & Mary had children: Mary [4/22/1658-9/30/1722][m. 11/22/1676 Timothy Stanley] & Hannah [8/11/1660-11/03/1730][m. John Hopkins]. John's wife, Mary, died on 28 April 1663 in Windsor leaving him a widower. John married 2nd Elizabeth Warriner circa August 1666 in Windsor. John & Elizabeth had at least two sons, John [12/25/1665-5/29/1749] & Jacob [4/08/1673-5/25/1749][11/10/1798 Abigail Bissell] & Josiah [1/11/1678-4/05/1759][m. 1/05/1699 Joanna Gillett]. John's wife, Elizabeth, died on 7 June 1684 in Windsor leaving him a widower. John married 3rd Hannah Smith on 26 November 1686 in Windsor. Hannah was first married to Joseph Trumbull on 6 May 1669. John departed this life on Thursday, 20 February 1698 in Windsor. The inventory of John's estate was taken on Friday, 28 February 1698 at Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut. It was noted in the inventory that the ages of John's childrfen were: John 32, Jacob 25, Josiah 19, Mary Stanley 40 & Hannah Hopkins 36. A month later an agreement was signed regarding the distribution of the estate by John Strong, Jacob Strong Josiah Strong [his gardian Return Strong], Timothy Stanley & John Hopkins.4
