Joan de was born circa 1292 in Staffordshire, England. Joan de married Thomas Botetourt, son of John Botetourt and Maud fitz Thomas, circa 1316 in England. In 1322, she & her sister were co-heiress of their brother, John. She inherited half interest in the Barony of Dudley, Staffordshire, consisting of the castle of Weoley [in Northfield], Worcestersire & the manors of Newport Paynell, Buckinghamshire, Mere [in Forton], Staffordshire and Cradley & Hagley, Worcestershire. Joan departed this life shortly before 12 February 1338 in Staffordshire, England.
