     Pélagie was born on Sunday, 20 January 1788 in Maskinonge, Quebec, Canada.1 She was christened there on 21 January 1788 in St-Joseph Church.2 Pélagie married Paul Cuthbert Sylvestre, son of Joseph-Francois Sylvestre dit Champagne and Marie-Josephe Bergeron, on 2 February 1807 in St-Joseph-de-Maskinonge at St-Joseph Church.3 Pélagie's husband, Paul, died on 2 August 1845 in Upton, Yamaska County, Quebec, Canada, leaving her a widow. Pélagie departed this life on Sunday, 10 March 1850 in Upton at age 62 years, 1 month and 18 days. She was buried there in the churchyard of St-Guillaume on Tuesday, 12 March 1850.4

Not having found any impediment or opposition to the aforementioned marriage, we the undersigned priest have received their mutual consent to marriage and have given them the nuptial blessing according to the norms of our mother, the Holy Roman Catholic and apostolic church en the presence of Joseph Rivard, witness for the bridegroom, Alexis Ayot, father of the bride, Pierre Tibodeau , witness for the bride, and several others who declared that they were unable to sign this undertaking.
