Pierre was born circa 1661 in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada. A contract for the marriage of Pierre and Catherine Trottier was signed on 9 January 1685 in Quebec, Canada. It was drawn up by the notary, Jean Cusson. It noted Pierre as being of Batiscan & his parents being Nicolas Rivard de Lavingne & Catherine St Pert. It also noted Catherine as residing at Cap-de-la-Madeleine & her parents as the late Julien Trotier & Marie Sedilot.¹ Pierre departed this life in Batiscan, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada. He was buried there in the churchyard of St-Francois Xavier on Wednesday, 1 March 1724.²
