Gaspard Colet de Rapalje

     Gaspard Colet de was born in 1505 in Chatillon, Loire, France. Gaspard married Miss (?) Jansen, daughter of Abram Jansen, circa 1548 in Antwerp, Belgium. His birthplace is noted in history as the rendezvous of the reformed and the headquarters of the Protestants. Gaspard was a bold and courageous soldier, he became a colonel 22 December 1545. In 1548, after the death of the monarch, he had served so well, he was deprived of his mililary comission by Henry II, and he fled to Hollandwith others of his family. It was there in Antwerp that he met his wife in 1548.
