     Johan Jacob was born in Zweibrucken, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. In 1749, Johan left from Rotterdam aboard the ship, "Dragon", under the command of Captain George Spencer, first for Deal, England before leaving for Pennsylvania. Among the passengers was Johan Jacob Peterman, Johan Peter Eckert & Johan Henrich Eckert - all being from the Palatinate, Zweibruchen, Germany. They arrived at port in Philadelphia on the 26th of September. Also, a Jacob Peterman immigrated on ship "Neptune" captained by John Mason, leaving from Rotterdam for Cowes then for Pennsylvania. Theyy arrived in Pennsylvania on 24 September 1751. It is not certain whether there were two Jacobs or one making two trips..1
