David is a teamster.3 23 June 1870, David and his wife, Catharine, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Bucyrus. Enumerated in this household were David Peterman [56 Pennsylvania][Teamster], his wife: Catherine [53 Ohio]. children:L Jacob [24 Ohio], John [24 Ohio - Harness Maker], & Mary [16 Ohio].4 David made his will on 16 January 1877 at Bucyrus, Crawford County, Ohio.

In the name of the Benevolent Father of all
I David Peterman of Bucyrus in Crawford County, Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testament
1 I give and devise to my beloved wife Catharine Peterman the House and lot where I now reside and all my household and kitchen furniture for and durning her natural life in lieu of dower and all other allowances and claims on my estate
2 I give and devise to my children Samuel Peterman Benjamin Franklin Peterman Eliza Ann Mallory John Russell Peterman and Mary Catharine King the sum of twenty five dollars each to be due and payable to them at the decease of my said wife
3 I give and devise to my son Jacob I. Peterman my horses wagons harness and farming utensils and all other property of every description owned by me at the time of my decease not herein otherwise desposed of including the fee simple title to my said house and lot subject to a life estate therein to my said wife and charge upon him to payment of the said legacies to my other children and the support of his mother my said wife during her widowhood
4 I do hereby nominate and appoint my said wife Catharine Peterman executrix and my said son Jacob I. Peterman executor of this my last will and testament

signed and acknowledged by said David Peterman as his last will and testament in our presence and signed by us in his presence, Franklin Adams, George Beagle.5

David departed this life on Thursday, 12 July 1877 in Bucyrus at his home at age 63 years.

Obituary: "Died on Thursday, July 12,(1877) at his residence in the sixty-fourth year of his age. DAVID PETERMAN. Funeral will proceed from the residence to the Baptist Church on Saturday, July 14, at 9 a.m. and from thence to Luke's Graveyard, 6 miles East of Bucyrus.

He was buried at Sandusky Township, Crawford County, Ohio, in Luke Cemetery.6
