Benjamin Pell

     Benjamin was born in 1740 in Pellham Manor, Westchester County, New York. Benjamin married Marianna Ferris, daughter of John Ferris and Marianna Hunt, on 25 November 1778 in Westchester, Westchester County, New York.¹ Benjamin & Marianna had children: William Ferris [9/--/1779-10/28/1840][m. 11/11/1802 Mary Shipley], Maria [m. Jacob Trewell Walden], Alfred Sands [5/01/1786-4/20/1831][m. Adelia Duane], Gilbert [4/15/1788][m. Eliza Birkbeck] & Ferris [10/15/1790-1850][m. 11/06/1827 Mariana Channing]. Benjamin was a Quaker. He served with the Loyalist during the Revolution and was forced to flee to Canada. He probably went to Sheleburne, Nova Scotia and returned to New York City after the war. Benjamin departed this life on Sunday, 2 March 1828 in New York at age 88 years.
