     Abigail M. was born in 1835 in Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan. She was often called Abbey. Abigail M. married Townsend Carpenter Beardslee, son of John Wheeler Beardslee and Elizabeth Ann Carpenter, on 11 June 1856 in Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan.2,3 Townsend & Abbey had children: Carrol Townsend [10/01/1859-1/17/1927][m. 1/16/1897 Aggie Stanzell] & John 5/01/1863-before 9/12/1870]. Townsend was a lawyer. 9 June 1860, Abigail and her husband Townsend were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Pontiac. Enumerated in this household were T. C. Beardsley [27 Michigan], his wife: Abigail [24 Michigan], & Carol [female][8/12 Michigan]. T. C. is a painter.4 Abigail's husband, an unknown person , died on 22 August 1863 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, leaving her a widow; while serving as captain in company D of the 22nd regiment of the Michigan Volunteers during the Civil War. On 2 July 1867, Abbey married second Samuel Myers in Pontiac. Abigail M. married 2nd on 2 July 1867 in Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan.5 12 September 1870, Abigail was listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Pontiac. Enumerated in this household were Samuel Myers [29 Canada], his wife: Abigail [34 Michigan], Carroll Beardslee [10 Michigan], & Arthur [11/12 Michigan]. He is a sewing machine agent.6 Abigail departed this life on Wednesday, 14 August 1895 in Pontiac at age 60 years. She was buried there in the Oak Hill Cemetery.7,8
