Barbe Neveu

     Barbe was born in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. She was christened there on 3 December 1653 in the Basilica of Notre Dame.¹ Barbe married Nicolas Sylvestre, son of Nicolas Sylvestre and Estanche Colson, on 27 August 1667 in ville de Quebec at the Basilica of Notre Dame.² 1681, Barbe and her husband, Nicolas, were listed on the Canadian Census in Neuville, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Nicolas Sylvestre [39 years], his wife: Barbe Neveu [29 years], Nicolas [12 years], Marie [9 years], Louis [7 years], Pierre [5 years] & Anne [2 years].³ Barbe's husband, Nicolas, died circa 10 March 1729 in Neuville, leaving her a widow. Barbe departed this life in Pointe-aux-Tremples, Neuville. She was buried there in St-Francois-de-Sales Church on Monday, 18 April 1729.
