     Thomas was born in Oulton in the Parish of Southwold, County Suffolk, England. On 20 May 1616, he was christened in Oulton in the Parish of Southwold, County Suffolk, England, at the Anglican Church.. On 24 July 1635, Thomas left London, aboard the ship, "Assurance", under the command of Captain Isack Bromwell, enroute for Virginia. Before being permitted to board, he had to present a certificate showing his examination by the minister of Gravesend, County Essex.. Among the passengers were John Budd aged 15 years, Thomas More aged 19 years & John More aged 28 years..1 Thomas married Martha Yonges, daughter of Rev. Christopher Yonges and Margaret (?), circa 1638 in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts. He settled for a time at Salem, Massachusetts where he was granted land in July of 1636. About 1651, Thomas moved on to Southold, Long Island where he became a large ship and land owner. Thomas's wife, Martha, died on 27 June 1671 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, leaving him a widower. Thomas married 2nd Catherine (?) after 27 June 1671 in Connecticut.2 Thomas departed this life on Wednesday, 27 June 1691 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. His will was probated on 19 September 1691 at the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
