     John was born circa 1672 in Calvert County, Maryland. The name of his wife is unknown. John and his wife had children: William, Robert, Richard, Elinore, John and Mary [m. Mr. Travis]. the birth order of the children is not known. John made his will on 21 October 1717.

In the Name of God Amen I John Mills of Prince George’s County being sick of body but of Sound perfect mind & memory praise be to Almighty God make & ordain this my last will & testament in Manner & form Following. First I Commend my Soul into the hands of God my Savior & my body I commit to the earth to be buryed at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named & as for my temporal Estate I Give dispose thereof as followth - Item I will that my debts be duly paid & Discharged - Item I give to my Son William Mills fifty acres of Land the upper Part from the river it being the upper part of that tract I bought of John Tait. Item the lower 50 acres I give to my Son Robert Mills ____to the river & my Son William finding my Son Robert Timber to build on forty foot Tobacco house
Items I give my Son Richard Mills one mare colt - Item I give to my wife on Horse Called Rainbow. Item I give to my Daughter Elininor Mills one Cow Called Chorry & one mare colt - Item I give my Daughter Seliner Mills one heifer Called Blofam. Item I Give my Son John Mills 5 shillings
Item I Give to my Son Robert one black horse Called Spashs - Item I Give to my Grand Daughter Elizabeth Travis a Two yeare old Heifer Called Imsee. Item I give to my Daughter Mary Travis one black Cow Called Colter. Item I give to my Son William Mills forty acres of Land ____ being the Land I bought of Richard Edwards – Item the Land which I have Given to My Son William & to my Son Robert I hereby give the said Lands to theme & their Heirs forever –
I Give my Grand son William Mills Travis one Cow Calfe – Item My Son Robert I set free from all Persons at my Death & also the remaining part of my personal Estate to be equally Divided between my wife & all my children Except my son John Mills & I doe hereby ordain my dutifull Son William Mills full & Sole Executor of this my last Will & Testament. I doe hereby revoke & make voyd all former Wills & Testaments by me heretofore made – In Witness whereof I the said John Mills to this my last Will & Testament do sett my hand & Seale this twenty first Day of October 1717.

John departed this life in Prince George's County. His will was probated on 25 January 1718.
