Emma married Phillip Simmons in 1867 in Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. On the 1878 platt map of Hungerford Township, Hastings Co., Ontario. Phillip & Emily lived on lot __ in the concession __. They immigrated to Michigan in 1883. During 1883 & 1884, there was a smallpox epidemic. Emily was one of the fortunate ones & was immune. She took care of the sick during this time. 9 June 1900, Emma and her husband Phillip were listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Vernon Townshi, Isabella County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were Phillip Simmons [not readable], Emma [51 Canada-March 1849], Lianes [30 Canada-June 1869], Phillip [25 Canada-May 1875], Mitchell [16 Canada-Feb. 1884]. They had been married 30 years with 6 children, 6 living. They immigrated in 1883 & has been here 17 years, Lianes in 1881, Phillip in 1883 & Mitchell in 1892. [Enum.
