     Francis was born on Tuesday, 11 May 1819 in Ste-Anne-de-la-Perade, Quebec, Canada. On on 11 May 1819, he was christened at Ste-Anne-de-la-Perade, Quebec, Canada.1 Francis Meraw was also known as Merron. Francis Meraw was also known as Merand. Francis Meraw was also known as Morou. On 25 November 1844, Francis Maurand purchased fifty acres on the southwest 1/4 of lot 14 in the eleventh concession of Hungerford Township from David Embury. On 12 April 1850, Francis Mareau purchased a parcel from Felix Gabourie of lot 14 in the twelveth concession. This was land Felix had purchased from James Campell. On 10 June 1850, Francis Mareau purchased another 100 acres on this lot from his father-in-law James Campbell & wife. James Campbell had owned it as early as 1836. On 20 September 1853, he bought sixty-four acres on lot 14 of the eleventh concession from Feliz Gabourie & wife. On 22 January 1874, Francis Maurand purchased 100 acres on the east 1/2 lot 17 in the tenth concession from the Canada Company. On 9 December 1879, Francis Maurand purchased 100 acres on the north 1/2 of lot 12 in the twelveth concession from Joseph Gabourie & wife. These records were taken from the original land records located at the Land Registry Office in Belville. Located on these documents was found his will where he mentions all his children noting Julie, wife of Joseph Gabourie & Fanny, wife of Fredrick Gabourie. On 25 November 1844, Francis Mairhand purchased southwest 1/2 of lot 14 in the eleventh concession consisting of 36 acres from David Embury.2 Francis married Mary Campbell on 27 November 1844 in Bellleville at St. Michael the Archangel Church.3 On 10 June 1850, Francis Mareau was deeded 100 acres in the north 1/2 of lot 14 of the 12th concesseion from James Campbell & his wife.4 Francis Marrand purchased on the 20 September 1853 the east 1/2 of lot 14 in the 11th concession consisting of 64 acres from Felix Gabourie.5 Francis Meraw lived in 1861 at the east 1/2 of lot 14 of the 11th concession, Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. Francis was listed on the 1861 Canadian Census in Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Francis Marerau [41], Mary [32], Francis E. Not clearly written, but part of lot 15 is also included. Francis was listed on the 1871 Canadian Census in Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Francis Meareau [50], Mary [44], Francis E. [24], James [22], Mary [19], Charles A. [19], Julie Ann [17], Lenor [14], Edward [12], Joseph [6], Elizabeth [3], Mary Campbell [78]. [District 3, Hastings East, pages 21-22] On 22 January 1874, Francis Mearand purchased the east half of lot 17 in the 10th concession consisting of 100 acres from the Canada Company.6 On 17 November 1879, Francis Meaurand received a deed for the north 1/2 of lot 12 in the 12th concession containing 100 acres from Joseph Gabourie & his wife.7 Francis was listed on the 1881 Canadian Census in Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Francis Marraund [65], James [32], Mary Eliza [31], Charles Antoine [29], Edward [21], Joseph [17], Elizabeth [13]. [District 3, page 35 - Hungerford East] Francis made his will 20 December 1884 at Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. Various segments of Francis Marrow's will is found listed on his various land records in Hungerford Township. Mentioned are his wife,Mary, his children and heirs. Children listed were Edward, Joseph, Mary Eliza, Elizabeth, Julia Ann Gobourie & Joseph Gabourie her husband, Fanny Lenor Gabourie & Fred Gabourie her husband. From the various records it was gleaned. He leaves to son Francis Marrow the east 1/2 of lot 17 in the 10th concession containing 100 acres. The stipulation is made for him to provide for his sister, Mary Marrow. He leaves to son Charles Marrow south 1/2 of kot 14 of the 11th concession. The stipulation is made for providing for his sister, Mary Marrow. He leaves son Edward Marrow the north 1/2 of Lot 12 in the 12th concession containing 100 acres. And he leaves his son Joseph Marrow the north 1/2 of lot 14 in the 12th concession containing 100 acres. He appointed Thomas McCann & Nelson Lashway as executors of his estate.8 Francis departed this life on Friday, 12 March 1886 in Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada, at age 66 years, 10 months and 1 day. He was buried at Village of Stoco, Hungerford Township in the yard of St. Edmund Church. His family was buried in plots 297 & 298. The inscription on his tombstone reads: Francis Meraw 12 March 1886 - age 69 years, 10 months, 12 days. He is buried with his wife and some of his children.9 His estate was probated on 14 March 1887.
