     Charles Meraw was also known as Merand. Charles Meraw was also known as Mayrand. Charles was born in 1836 in Quebec, Canada. Charles married Miss _____ (?). On 25 March 1861, Charles Marrand purchased the southeast quarter of lot 17 in the 11th concession from Norris Switzer and his wife consisting of 50 acres.1 On the 2nd of March 1875, Louis Trifley Maurand obtains from Charles Maurand the southeast quarter of lot 17 in the 11th concession containing fifty acres. Charles most likely was a brother of Trifley.2 Charles Meraw was living on 10 March 1875. Charles departed this life on Saturday, 18 April 1903 in Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada, at age 67 years. He was buried at Village of Tweed, Hungerford Township in the yard of St. Carthagh Church.3
