George J. Lemire

     George J. was born in 1881 in Canada. He was the son of Joseph Lemire & Susan Seguin. George married Annie Meraw, daughter of Louis Trifley Meraw and Harriet Pelland dit Beausoliel, on 5 June 1906 in Detroit. They were married by John A. _owe, clergyman.1 6 January 1920, George and Annie listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were George J. Lemire [38 Canada][adding machine factory inspector], Anna [37 Canada], Ada [45 Canada][sister-in-law][clothes fitter Seigals Dept. Store] George & Annie immigrated to Michigan in 1900. Ada also immigrated in 1900. They lived on Greenwood Avenue. [4th Ward, Enum, Dist, 146, sheet 6a, line 12] 12 May 1930, George and Annie listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were George J. Lemire [47 Michigan], Anna [45 Michigan], Ada Meraw [sister-in-law][51 Michigan]. George was first married at age 24 years & Anna was 22 years. They were living on Stoepel Ave. [Precinct 52, Ward 16, Block 603, Enum. Dist. 82-537, sheet 38b, line 62] George departed this life before 2 September 1965 in Ferndale, Wayne County, Michigan. He was buried at Southfield in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In section 15, lot 65, grave 8 alongside his wife.2
