John was born in 1360 at Scotland. He was the son of Robert Stewart King Robert II of Scotland and Moira Leitch. John married Janett Sympil of Elistoun, daughter of John Sympil of Elistoun, at Scotland. Sir John was also known as "Knight of Dundonald" and later sheriff of Bute. John married Elizabeth Graham in 1407. John departed this life in 1449 at Scotland at age 89 years.
