John was born circa 1766 at Allen Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of James McCurdy II and Ann Patterson. John married Elizabeth (?) at Franklin County, Pennsylvania. John and Elizabeth had a daughter Eliza Ann who died in 1813. At the death of Eliza Ann, according to Orphan Court records, she had no brothers or sisters and her father was deceased.

We have drawn conclusion that John was married to Elizabeth Brown after examining many different records. Elizabeth was first married to Philp Evert having three daughters that in 1818 were under 14 years making the eldest born no earlier than 1805. John married Elizabeth Brown before 1812 at Franklin County, Pennsylvania. John died at Path Valley, Fannett Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Letters of Administration were granted for his estate on 18 November 1812 to Joseph Brown & Richard Childerstone. John departed this life before 5 March 1813 at Path Valley, Metal Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.

For now, unless something different shows up, we place this with John, son of James McCurdy. We question this decision but do not know where this belongs-klm].
