     Robert was born on Sunday, 7 April 1907 at Williamsburg, Franklin County, Kansas. He was the son of Thomas E. McCurdy and Lena Agnes Barnes. Robert married Amy Hoskinson on 14 August 1933 at Williamsburg, Franklin County, Kansas. 18 April 1940, Robert and his wife, Amy, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census at 610 N. Oak Street, Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas. Enumerated in this household were Robert McCurdy [33 Kansas], his wife: Amy [29 Kansas], Phyllis [9 Kansas], Loren [6 Kansas], Roberta [4 Kansas], Mary [2 Kansas] & Ruby [1 Kansas]. He completed the 7th grade and she the 5th grade. He worked at a "rockquary, road construction". They rented their home for $6.00 a month.1












Robert was a welder at the Baldwin & Ward Company of Ottawa. The family moved to Williamsburg from Ottawa in 1947. Robert died on Monday, 9 June 1947 at the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas, at age 40 years, 2 months and 2 days after a stay of nine months.
