     Ralph was born on Thursday, 12 July 1900 at Williamsburg, Franklin County, Kansas. He was the son of James Charles "Kit" McCurdy and Bertha McCurdy. 19 April 1930, the U.S. Federal Census listed Ralph living in the home of his sister at 212 S William Street, Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas. Enumerated in this household were C C McGuffin [32 Kansas], his wife: Cleda [25 Kansas], Brother-in-law: Ralph McCurdy [29 Kansas]. Clifford was 29 when he married; Cleda was 22. They were renting their home for $15. Clifford was a clerk at Warner Manufacturing while Cleda also worked there as a Laborer. Ralph also worked there as a clerk.1 Ralph married Jennie Fae Humbert on 31 March 1933 at Paola, Miami County, Kansas. Ralph was a switchman. He resided in Williamsburg until 1918 removing to Ottawa, Kansas. He was a member of Williamsburg Methodist Church & Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. 4 April 1940, Ralph listed on the U.S. Federal Census at 108 S Poplar Street, Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas. Enumerated in this household were Ralph P McCurdy [ 39 Kansas], his wife: Fae [23 Kansas], Sylvia [4 Kansas], Dean [2 Kansas], Lodger: Joe Walker [40 Kansas]. Ralph completed 2 years of high school and Fae completed 6 grade. Ralph is listed as a stone quary - road construction.
