     Robert was born on Saturday, 29 March 1919 at Whetstone Township, Crawford County, Ohio. He was the son of Edgar Blaine Sweney and Dessa Valera Brown. Robert also went by the name of Bob. Bob was a graduate of North Robinson High School & Ohio State University College of Business Administration. He spent forty years at the Crawford Steel Foundry retiring in 1988. He served three years in the South Pacific during World War II & was on the troop ship "President Coolidge" which struck two mines & sank 26 October 1942. He was a member of the North Robinson St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served as treasurer for many years. He was also a charter member of the North Central Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Accounts. He has a clock in his home which was made in the mid 1700's in Gettysburg in which was written for Mr. Sweeney.1 Robert died on Friday, 3 December 1993 at his home at 5283 Lincoln Highway, Whetstone Township, Crawford County, Ohio, at age 74 years, 8 months and 4 days of kidney failure.
