     Jack was born on Wednesday, 1 October 1913 at Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. He was son of L. Preston and Ada M. Stoner. Jack married Annie Elizabeth Cooper, daughter of William Henry Cooper and Edna McCurdy, on 2 July 1937. 5 April 1940, Jack and his wife, Annie, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census at 479 Isabel, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California. Enumerated in this household were J. R. Stoner [26 Oregon], his wife: Ann [27 Oklahoma] & Sydney [1 Colorado]. He completed one year of high school and she completed two years of college. They were renting their home for $230 a month. In 1935 they lived in Morgan County, Colorado. Jack was a hostler for the steam rail road and Ann was a switch board operator for a private club.1 Jack's wife, Annie, died on 11 December 1962 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, at age 50 years, 4 months and 1 day, leaving him a widower.2 Jack departed this life on Saturday, 6 January 1990 at the Grandview Cemetery, Bonners Ferry, Boundary County, Idaho, at age 76 years, 3 months and 5 days.3,4
