     Dorothy was born on Friday, 6 March 1903 at Lima, Allen County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Levi Shrider and Etta Blanche McCurdy. Dorothy also went by the name of Dottie. Dorothy married Thomas Ivan Grissom circa 1928. Dorothy met Ivan while working in a small diner in Casey and they began seeing each other. One day when Ivan came to see Dorothy he brought his brother, Noble, with him and he and Leona got together. Dorothy departed this life on Sunday, 8 July 1979 at the Fontan Bleu Nursing Home, Charleston, Coles County, Illinois, at age 76 years, 4 months and 2 days.

Obituary: Dorothy M. Grissom, 76, South Central, Casey, died Sunday, July 8, 1979 in the Fountain Bleu Nursing Home in Charleston, Illinois.
She was born March 6, 1903, the daughter of Levi and Blanche (McCurdy) Shrider. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas in 1933 and one son, Donald Lee in 1959.
Surviving are one sister, Leona Grissom, Casey; one grandson, Mike Grissom, Casey; one randdaughter, Mrs. Connie Tingley, Martinsville; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Markwell Funeral Home in Casey with Rev. Hugh Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the Casey Washington St. Cemetery. Friends may call today, Monday, after 4 p.m.

Dorothy was laid to rest in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, Clark County, Illinois.
