Harold Allen Brooks

     Harold was born on Thursday, 25 November 1886 at New Haven County, Connecticut.1 On his WW I draft registration, he was described as tall and slender, blue eyes and light hair. on his WW II registration, he was listed as 5' 11", 165 pounds, blue eyes, brown graying hair and light complexion. Harold married Mildred McNeil, daughter of Alexander McNeil and Eliza Parsons Woodruff, on 13 June 1923.2 7 April 1930, Harold and his wife, Mildred, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in New Haven, New Haven Colony, Connecticut, at 131 Canner Street. Enumerated in this household were Harold A. Brooks [42 Connecticut], Mildred [34 New York] & Harold A. Jr. [4 Connecticut]. They are renting for $60 per month. He was 35 when first married she was 27. Harold was a bookkeeper.3 2 April 1940, Harold and his wife, Mildred, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Woodbridge at Amity Road. Enumerated in this household were Harold A. Brooks [53 Connecticut], Mildred [44 Long Island] & Harold A. Jr. [14 Connecticut]. They own their home valued at $8000. They lived in the same place in 1935. He had finished 4 years of high school and she had finished 1 year of college. Harold was a clerk at the 2nd National Bank. He was making $2400. Harold departed this life on Wednesday, 16 August 1950 in Woodbridge at his home on Amity Road at age 63 years, 8 months and 22 days.1 He was buried at Lithfield in the New East Cemetery.4
