Don was born in Jackson, MI. He graduated from Jackson High School and served in the U.S. Navy as a machinist on the U.S.S Cutlass submarine from January 1946 until November 1947. Don worked as a welding and safety sales representative for O.K.I. Supply Company for 23 years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and carpentry. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Jaycees. He was also actively involved at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Alfred, Florida.
Don is preceded in death by his mother, Clara Keith; father, Phillip Evenden and brother, Howard Evenden.2
He was buried in Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan, in the Maxon Cemetery. The inscription on his tombstone reads: Donald Randall Evenden - Jan 5, 1928 - Aug 30, 2014.2
