Frederick Howard Hoe

     Frederick was born on Saturday, 18 September 1858 at Greenburg Township, Westchester County, New York. He was the son of Peter S. Hoe and Hannah M. Smith. He was involved with the printing press manufacture that was was revolutionized by his grandfather. Frederick married Katherine Seaman, daughter of James John Seaman and Ellen Ophelia Robbertson, on 16 February 1886 in Manhattan at St. Anne's Church. St. Anne's Church, NYC Feb 16, Rev Dr Ketten, Kate Seaman, dau James J to Frederic H Hoe of NYC. [New York Evening Post - 17 February 1886.] 28 April 1910, Frederick was was listed on the U.S. Federal Census in New Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey, at 572 George Street. Enumerated in this household were Frederick Hoe [50 New York][widower], Catherine [16 New Jersey], Richard M. [23 New York] & a servant: Mary Duffey [45 Massachusetts]. He own his home free and clear. Richard is a bill clerk at a cement company.1 8 January 1920, Frederick was was listed on the U.S. Federal Census in New Brunswick at 572 George Street. Enumerated in this household were Frederick H. Hoe [61 New York][widower], Katherine H. [26 New Jersey] & a maid: Mary Duffey [55 Massachusetts]. Katherine is a secretary at the board of Education.2 7 April 1930, Frederick was was listed on the U.S. Federal Census in New Brunswick at 572 George Street. Enumerated in this household were Frederick H. Hoe [71 New York], Katherine H. [36 New Jersey] & a maid: Susie Kirsh [50 Hungry]. He owns his home valued at $50,000.3 He died Thursday, 12 August 1937 at age 78 years, 10 months and 25 days. He was buried in Sleepy Hollow, Westchester County, New York, in Sleepy Hollow Cememtery. The inscription on his tombstone reads: Frederick Howard Hoe - son of Peter S. and Hannah M. Hoe - Born Sept. 18, 1858 - Died Aug. 12 1937.4
