Ferris Seaman Randall

     Ferris was born on Monday, 14 August 1876 at 169 Elizabeth Street, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. This was the home of his grandparents, Augustus & Eliza Leggett. Ferris married Ida Wells in 1908 in Laredo.¹ January 1920, Ferris was was listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Waterford Township. Enumerated in this household were Anna S, Randall [65 New York][widow], Ferris [40 Michigan][widow], Ferris Jr. [10 Old Mexico], Anita [3 1/2 Oklahoma], Elrose [34 Michigan - psychologist].² 30 April 1930, Ferris was listed on the US Federal Census at 4458 Drexel Boulevard, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Enumerated in this household were Elrose A. [39 Michigan][single], Ferris Jr. [20 Mexico][nephew], Elrose A. II [16 Oklahoma][niece], Anita W. [13 Oklahoma][neice], Ferris Sr. [54 Michigan][brother], Fredrick G. Ranney [45 Illinois][border], Abby L. Merrill [61 Vermont][housekeeper]. Elrose worked as a sales manager for Cash City, an office supply company & Ferris Sr. worked as a painter & decorator in the building trade. They lived in an apartment at 4454 Drexel Blvd.³ Ferris married 2nd Hulda Catherine Witte on 11 August 1934 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.⁴ Ferris departed this life on Saturday, 8 July 1939 in Bridgman, Berrien County, Michigan, at age 62 years, 10 months and 24 days. Ferris was buried at Lincoln Charter Township Cemetery, Stevensville, Berrien County, Michigan.⁵
