     Margaret was born on Thursday, 27 April 1843 at the family home "Hillside", Roslyn, Queens County, Long Island, New York. She went by the nick name "Minnie". Margaret Wright married Lewis Thomas Ives on 26 June 1860 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. 6 July 1870, Lewis and her husband, Margaret were listed on the US Federal Census at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were Lewis T. Ives [35 England], Minnie [26 New York], Augustus [9 Michigan], Percival [6 Michigan], Valentine [2 mos. Michigan], & Lewis [2 mos. Michigan], Anna Gallager [23 Canada].2 15 June 1880, Lewis and her husband, Margaret were listed on the US Federal Census at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were Corydon C. Randall [39 Canada], his wife: Anna S. [32 New York], childrenb: Lida S. [11 Michigan], Huntley B. [5 Michigan], Ferris S. [3 Michigan]. Lewis T. Ives [46 New York][border-artist], Lewis' wife, Margaret [36 New York], Augustus Ives [19 Michigan], Percival S. Ives [16 Michigan], Valentine S. Augustus was a physician. Minnie had eight children, three living.4 19 April 1910, Margaret was listed on the US Federal Census at 617 Cass Avenue, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were Pulaski Billings [66 New York], Lucy Augusta [67 Michigan], Edna A. [21 Michigan], mother-in-law: Hannah E. [86 New Jersey], lodger: Margaret Ives [66 New York- widow]. Margaret had seven children, three living.5 Margaret departed this life on Sunday, 27 May 1928 in Birmingham at at the home of her son, Augustus Wright Ives, 816 Southfield Road at age 85 years and 1 month.

Obituary: Percy Ives Death Fatal to Mother
Mrs. Margaret W. Ives, 84 years old a resident of Detroit for seventy years died at the home of her son A. W. Ives in Birmingham, Michigan yesterday noon. Mrs. Ives became ill after the death of her son, Percy Ives, Detroit artist, who died in February. She was critically ill last week.
Mrs. Ives was born in New York in 1843 and moved with her parents to Pontiac when a young girl. She moved to Detroit soon after and at the age of seventeen married Lewis T. Ives, well known artist, who died thirty four years ago.
Mrs. Ives was the daughter of A. W. & Elisa S. Leggett of New York and was a member of the Unitarian church. Surviving her are her son, Dr. Ives; a brother, Mortimer Leggett, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Randall both of Drayton Plains, Michigan.

She was buried at Detroit in the Elmwood Cemetery.
