     Hettie was born on Saturday, 14 January 1871 at Barton Township, Halton County, Ontario, Canada. She was the daughter of James & Mary Jane [Murphy] Munn. Hettie married John Bingham Colton, son of Jacob William Colton and Mary Ann Ward, on 16 July 1890 at Barton Township, Halton County, Ontario, Canada.1 1901, Hettie and her husband, [ROF:Household head], were listed on the Canadian Census at Brigden, Moore Township, Lambton County,, Ontario, Canada. Enumerated in this household were John B. Colton [27 December 1862 - 38], Hattie M. [14 January 1871 - 30]. [Lampton West no. 79, sub. dist. Moore B-7, page 13, line 35]

. Early in her marriage, she was noted in medicial records as suffering from mental problems. As a result of her young daughter's drowning, Hettle suffered a break down and was confined to the Hamiliton Asylum where she remained a short time. In October of 1902, her condition worsened & she was returned to the asylum where she remained for the rest of her life. At this time, she was diagnosed with schizaphrenia. After the death of her husband, her son was raised by his aunt, Miriam Colton, wife of John Albert Hall. Hettie died on Tuesday, 10 March 1953 at the Cobourg Ontario Hospital, the village of Cobourg, Hamilton Township, Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada, at age 82 years, 1 month and 24 days coronary thrombosis.2

Due to the age of these records, many were illegible or pages were missing. Due to this some of the children in these families are probably missing. There was a John Colton married 1704 at St. Nicholas Church, South Kelsey Mary Dry. He was quite likely brother of our Thomas. Thomas departed this life before 22 December 1712 at Wrawby, Lincolnshire, England. Thomas was laid to rest in the yard St. Mary the Virgin Church, Wrawby, Lincolnshire, England.2
